Families may opt for support in teaching and behaviorally supporting their children while building their relationships & communication seeking richer interactions and greater joy and understanding with the support of Atlas. Sessions may be anywhere between 1 - 2 hours and focus on reviewing challenges the families are facing in the home and community, desired outcomes, and building realistic strategies that support warmth and growth in the student individually, the parent or caregiver, and the family at large. The coaching begins with a discussion between Atlas educators, an initial observation session and report, and following sessions where educators are working with the students and their families/caregivers to build greater interactions and feelings of success.
parents and caregivers often crave striking a balance of being a parent and focusing on the love, the lunches, and the logistics of planning services, play dates, etc with being as supportive and therapeutically present for their kids as well. Atlas prides itself on offering coaching sessions to assist and guide families (siblings as well) in engagement, fostering language and communication, play and independence in life skills. Families may opt to come in intermittently for coaching sessions and create a plan for weekly collaboration via skype, email, and phone calls or simply attend sessions together at the center. The whole journey is based on the notion that every family seeks their own identity and goals as a unit and how their loved ones with Autism play a role gets to be a team decision based on comfort, ability and readiness! Atlas coaching makes sure understanding and trust come into play at all levels and joy is prioritized through sequential steps of connecting and respect. Contact us today for a consultation!
